Al Torrence
Owner, Operator

Al comes from a long line of music. After starting on piano at an early age, he transitioned to guitar in high school, and was accepted to the Berklee College of Music. While attending, he graduated Magna Cum Laude with degree's in Music Production & Engineering and Songwriting, while also freelancing in Boston's local recording studios. After college he returned home to Pittsburgh and cut his teeth at Treelady Recording. In January 2017, Al acquired ownership of the historic Jeree Recording studio and rebranded it Music Garden Studios, building from Jeree's long history while also bringing new life to it. Al's mission is to create honest and meaningful recordings while showcasing the artists he works with. Whether it be tracking an entire band live or tracking in a living room, no idea is too crazy to bring the project he works on to life.
